Isn’t Scottsdale in a desert?

Although Scottsdale is in a landlocked desert, the city has its actual own "beachfront." Scottsdale Waterfront is a row of stores, restaurants and residences along the Arizona Canal. Scottsdale Public Art welcomes artists to enhance the canal with captivating installations.
The Arizona Canal is a lot more than a shopping area with public art. Its origins date back to 600 CE when the Hohokam Indians laid the structure for Arizona's modern canal system. The canal, which was built in 1883, was why Scottsdale owner Winfield Scott picked to locate there.

The hotel is the only hotel in Scottsdale with a historical site designation. It still draws in celebrities. Recently, Scottsdale's hotels have supplied rest and relaxation to celebrities like Beyoncé, Jay-Z, Taylor Swift and Jamie Foxx.
